What is a CPD and how can they support my education progression?

In terms of coach education, the role of the County FA has changed slightly over the last few years. We now have a greater focus on providing localised support to coaches throughout the season, most commonly referred to as "CPD". CPD stands for Continuous Professional Development and refers to a practical or online learning opportunity, such as workshop, FA Conference, online courses, and webinars. These are delivered outside of any formal qualification pathway.

We have a dedicated space on our Surrey FA website for coaches to access, which lists all upcoming development events that are available for coaches to book: https://www.surreyfa.com/coaches/ongoing-learning
For the latest webinars, conferences and events hosted by England Football Learning: https://learn.englandfootball.com/ongoing-learning

If you haven’t signed up already, please register to receive our monthly e-zine – this is our Surrey FA newsletter which we circulate every month by email to anyone involved in football in Surrey, and a tool we use to signpost coaches to upcoming opportunities and latest news. You can sign up to the newsletter here.
