What does a referee course consist of?

Modified on Tue, 31 Oct, 2023 at 2:51 PM

Pre learning
Prior to the course and after booking on, you will be required to complete an Online Laws of The Game module as well as a Safeguarding qualification, also online. These may take a couple of hours each and can be done at home

Face to Face training

You will be required to attend 2 Face to Face sessions, day one being 3 hours and day two being 8 hours. This will be the main bulk of your learning and will include theory and practical sessions to prepare you for Refereeing. This will qualify you as a Trainee Referee

Post course

After the Face to Face training is complete, you will be tasked with completing 5, 9v9 or 11v11 competitive matches as a Referee. Once this is done, you can send us a record of the 5 games and we will verify this, issue your certificate of qualification and update your Level to either Youth Referee or Level 7 (Depending on age)

Hopefully this all makes sense and if you have any further queries, please don't hesitate to get in touch via [email protected]
